NO. 383 SITE OF ADOBE HOME OF JOSÉ DOLORES SEPULVEDA - This adobe was built in 1818. Dolores had trouble getting his land title cleared, so he took a trip to Monterey to get the matter definitely settled and, on his return trip, he was shot with an arrow by a hostile Indian at Mission La Purísima Concepción.

The owner of a private residence at the intersection of Madison St and Courtney Way, Torrance, has lived there 35 years. A historian visited the property and pointed out the approximate location of the Sepulveda Adobe. The owner is now completing a renovation of his home that better reflects the history of the area.
